YOUR FAIRY TALE WEDDING AT DE HAAR CASTLE
Few castles in The Netherlands can equal De Haar for its ideal image of a medieval fortress with towers and ramparts, moats, gates and drawbridges. Like a real fairy tale castle, it rises majestically from the parkland with impressive trees, old gardens and ponds. The Castle is situated in the center of The Netherlands, near Utrecht, and is easy to reach by car. There is ample parking space available for you and your guests.
WEDDING CEREMONY
There is a wide variety of possibilities from only the wedding ceremony to the possibility to celebrate the whole day in and/or near the castle, with a castle visit, dinner and a wedding party included. Weddings can be held seven days a week, both during the day or in the evening. Marriages can be solemnized in the Chapel, outside in the gardens or in the Castle.
THE CHAPEL
The atmospheric Chapel is characterized by elegant simplicity and serenity. You can either get married in front of the law or have a religious ceremony. The Chapel has a standard seating capacity of 130 places and is equipped with all wedding supplies, such as a sound system, heating and nice furniture. For couples who want to get married in the Chapel, we offer the possibility to rent the ‘kerkeiland’ (church island) for a special rate. You can organize a toast or a small reception after the ceremony. This is possible after 4:00 pm.
OPEN-AIR WEDDING
In the period from May up to and including August, it is possible to get married in the gardens of the castle. The several locations are, the romantic Rose Garden, the great old Chestnut Tree and the stylish Roman Garden. Each location has his own character and atmosphere.
During an open-air wedding we arrange the furniture, welcome the registrar and master of the ceremony and accompany them before and during the ceremony. In case of bad weather, we offer you an alternative location.
THE CASTLE
There are limited wedding opportunities inside the Castle. The beautiful and intimate library offers the possibility to celebrate the ceremony with a maximum of 40 guests. A ceremony in one of the other areas of the Castle, like the Main Hall or the Ballroom, is only available on request.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Couples who get married at De Haar Castle can make use of the gardens to take beautiful wedding pictures in the romantic park. Also the wedding car, coach or other transport is allowed in the park.
TOAST, RECEPTION, DINNER AND PARTY
There are various possibilities for a reception, dinner and party at our location. Do you prefer to have a dinner in the Grote Laverie and a spectacular party in the Koetshuis? GROUP VISITS IN THE CASTLE
Besides inviting your guests to a beautiful ceremony at De Haar Castle, you can offer them a visit through the Castle. This is a pleasant moment for the bride and groom to take wedding pictures in the gardens of the castle. For the tour we use a special wedding rate.
